If you address envelopes with metallic ink, this little machine is for you. All metallic inks have a settling problem. When you first start working, it takes a lot of shaking to get the metallic color evenly mixed in the ink. While you are working, you have to regularly stir the bottle to keep the pigment evenly dispersed. This ingenious device provides a fine solution. You place a Teflon-coated magnetic pellet in a wide-mouthed jar, pour in your metallic ink, and set the jar on the platform of the magnetic stirrer. Turn the dial on the magnetic stirrer, and, as if by magic, your ink is stirred! Leave your ink in the wide-mouth jar with the Teflon-coated pellet, and next time the machine will quickly and effortlessly stir your ink for you. No batteries; the stirrer plugs in. Because of its flat design, you are not limited to one jar size. Includes one magnetic stir bar.

A range of magnetic stirrers are available, but this one seems best for calligraphers: It is small and won’t take up a lot of space in your work area. It is simple to operate, has no unnecessary features, and is modestly priced (for a magnetic stirrer).
