Calligraphy Books for Wedding Invitations and Envelopes

We not only carry calligraphy instructional books for general knowledge, our stock also includes helpful titles for specific events and styles. This post features three of our books/magazines that specifically pertain to calligraphy and papercraft for weddings. These titles include inspirational examples, how to address invitations and envelopes, and how to create unique DIY wedding invitations, if one is so inclined. Each of these titles can be found here:

Letter Arts Review Volume 19, Issue 4. Wedding Issue.

This special Wedding Issue is full of unique and engaging calligraphy for weddings — invitations, envelopes, reply cards, reply envelopes, and ketubbah. Includes both traditional, formal presentations and fun, innovative ones.

B3057. Wedding Invitation Handbook / Julie Holcomb.

A thorough guide for brides that is also invaluable for calligraphers who want to do wedding work or are new to it. Covers the elements of wedding stationery – the invitation, envelopes, reception cards, ceremony cards, reply cards, accommodation cards, at home cards, etc. – the wording for all of these – including addressing the envelopes – and a section on design and printing. Julie Holcomb is a letterpress printer who has produced fine wedding stationery for ceremonies throughout the country for many years.

Full of innovative ideas for invitations and related items. Shows how to use different papers and crafting techniques to make distinctive invitations. The designs are clean and stylish and the color palette is rich but muted. While the examples are all in type, they all have a handwritten/ calligraphic feel and would be easy to adapt to your lettering
